Record-Breaking Growth: Liverpool John Lennon Airport's Success Story

Liverpool John Lennon Airport saw a significant increase in passenger numbers last month, with over 527,000 passengers passing through, marking a 13% rise from October 2024 and the first time the airport handled more than half a million passengers in October. Travellers flew to 63 destinations during the month, with Dublin, Alicante, Malaga, Majorca, and Belfast being the top five destinations. International city breaks to Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Krakow were also popular choices for passengers.
The airport experienced a successful summer season, with 3.8 million passengers using Liverpool John Lennon Airport between April and October, the highest number ever recorded for a summer season and a ten per cent increase from the previous year. The airport attributes this growth to more passengers from the north west and north Wales choosing Liverpool due to its convenience and positive customer experience.
Paul Winfield, the aviation director at LJLA, expressed satisfaction with the airport's performance, highlighting the continuous record-breaking passenger numbers and the focus on maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The airport's improvements in the departure lounge and new security equipment have contributed to providing passengers with a faster, easier, and friendlier experience, enhancing the airport's reputation.
