Taylor Swift's 'The Life of a Showgirl' Misses Grammy Nominations Due to Release Date, Eligible for 2027 Awards

Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Life of a Showgirl," did not receive any Grammy nominations for the 2026 awards. This was not due to a snub but because the album was released after the eligibility window closed. The Grammy eligibility period for this year ran from August 31, 2024, to August 30, 2025, and Swift released her album on October 3, 2025, missing the deadline. Despite announcing the album in August, she did not release any singles before the album's launch and had not released any music since her previous album in April 2024. However, "The Life of a Showgirl" will be eligible for nominations at next year's Grammy Awards.
Kendrick Lamar led this year's Grammy nominations with nine nods, including Album of the Year for GNX. Lady Gaga followed closely with seven nominations, while Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter each received six nominations. ROSÉ and Bruno Mars also made history with their track "APT.," earning nominations for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. ROSÉ became the first K-pop artist to receive a nomination as a main performer for one of the top four Grammy awards.
The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 1. While Taylor Swift's album may not be in the running this year, fans can look forward to the possibility of seeing her nominated in 2027.
