Antonio Brown Returns to Miami: Extradition Waived in Attempted Murder Case

Former NFL star Antonio Brown has agreed to return to Miami after waiving his extradition on a charge of attempted murder. The 37-year-old was arrested by U.S. Marshals for allegedly trying to shoot and kill a man outside a celebrity boxing match in Miami in May. Brown was found in the United Arab Emirates and extradited to New Jersey before being transferred to the Essex County Jail in Newark, where he awaits pick up by Florida authorities.
The incident occurred at a boxing event hosted by streamer Adin Ross, where Brown was involved in a fight with multiple individuals. Witnesses claim Brown was armed and fired shots at the victim, Zül-Qarnaįn Nantambu. Brown denied the allegations on social media, stating that he was attacked and defended himself. If convicted of second-degree attempted murder in Florida, Brown could face up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Antonio Brown had a successful NFL career, playing for teams like the Pittsburgh Steelers, New England Patriots, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2020 but was released after a controversial on-field incident in 2021. Brown has faced legal issues in the past, including accusations of battery, domestic violence charges, and failure to pay child support.
