Louisiana Sex Trafficking Ring Busted: Three Arrested for Coercing Women into Prostitution via WhatsApp

Three individuals in Louisiana were arrested for allegedly running a sex trafficking ring and offering women to clients through WhatsApp. The suspects, Zaira Lopez-Oliva, Kirsis Castellanos-Kirington, and Jesus Lopez, were apprehended in Baton Rouge after authorities received a tip about their activities. The operation involved coercing women into engaging in sex acts with clients for a fee.

The FBI was alerted to the sex trafficking ring by a source who provided screenshots from WhatsApp conversations involving El Perro, who shared images of women available for sexual services. The victims were reportedly forced to have sex with clients who paid between $40 and $60 for the services. Castellanos-Kirington and Lopez-Oliva were said to have assisted Lopez in various aspects of the illegal operation.

Lopez-Oliva was implicated in transporting victims to and from the New Orleans Airport, as evidenced by surveillance footage showing her with Lopez near the airport. Castellanos-Kirington and Lopez-Oliva helped maintain the operation at two locations in Baton Rouge when Lopez was unavailable. The clients of the sex trafficking ring ranged from 18 to 60 years old.

During a raid on the house where the operation was based, one victim revealed that she was in financial distress and was introduced to Lopez through a friend. Upon arriving in Louisiana, she was informed that she would be providing sexual services to male clients. Two of the victims interviewed were identified as illegal immigrants. The victims reported receiving minimal payment for their services, with the majority of the earnings going to Lopez.

The victims were allegedly restricted from leaving or disclosing their activities to others, with Lopez threatening harm if they disobeyed. The suspects are facing charges of sex trafficking through force, fraud, or coercion, as well as aiding and abetting in the criminal activities. The case highlights the prevalence of sex trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals in society.
