Born in New York City on January 27, 1927, Harford began her acting career with appearances in shows like "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" in the 1950s. She later went on to star in various TV series such as "Gunsmoke," "The Twilight Zone," and "The Big Valley." Harford gained recognition for her role as Mrs. Nottingham in "The Paper Chase" from 1978 to 1986, alongside John Houseman and James Stephens.
During her time on "The Paper Chase," Harford also had a recurring role on "Dynasty" as Hilda Gunnerson. She appeared in multiple episodes of the ABC soap opera and reprised her role in "Dynasty: The Reunion" in 1991. Harford's film credits include "Spartacus," "Inside Daisy Clover," and "The China Syndrome." Her last known acting role was voicing Gumba in the 1994 animation video "Fun with Gumby."
In the 1960s, Harford was part of the UCLA Theatre Group, founded by notable actors like Paul Newman and Eva Marie Saint. She was married to sculptor Oliver Andrews and later to Hungarian actor Alex de Naszody until his passing in 1996. Harford is survived by her son Chris and grandsons.
