The Guess Who to Headline Ottawa Bluesfest for Bytown's 200th Anniversary Celebration

The Guess Who is set to headline Ottawa Bluesfest next summer in honor of Bytown's 200th anniversary. Ottawa Bluesfest, Ottawa Tourism, and the City of Ottawa have announced a special day of programming on Sunday, July 19 to celebrate this milestone. The day will feature music, memories, and civic pride, culminating in a performance by the iconic Canadian rock band, The Guess Who.

Formed in Winnipeg in 1956, The Guess Who recently revealed plans for a Canadian tour in 2026, with Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman reuniting as The Guess Who for the first time in over two decades. The tour will include stops in various cities across Canada, including Moncton, Halifax, Toronto, and Vancouver. The addition of The Guess Who to Bluesfest is not just a concert but a significant cultural event that kicks off a year of special experiences.

Michael Crockatt, president and CEO of Ottawa Tourism, expressed pride in collaborating with partners to ensure that the celebrations are inclusive and accessible to both residents and visitors. The festivities will mark the 200th anniversary of Bytown's founding on September 26, 1826, before it was renamed Ottawa in 1855 upon its incorporation as a city.
