The Wizard of the Kremlin: Full International Trailer Unveiled
A sneak peek was previously shared for Oliver Assayas' film, The Wizard of the Kremlin, featuring Paul Dano and Jude Law. Now, the full international trailer has been unveiled. The movie, based on a novel by Giuliano da Empoli, explores the complex political landscape of post-Soviet Russia and the ascent of Vladimir Putin. Dano portrays Vadim Baranov, a spin-doctor and advisor, while Law embodies Putin, initially depicted as a ruthless KGB agent. Alicia Vikander appears as Baranov's wife, Ksenia, with Tom Sturridge as an oligarch inspired by Mikhail Khodorkovsky, and Jeffrey Wright as an American journalist in Moscow.
The film, praised for its relevance by critics, received a warm reception at the Venice Film Festival and has since been showcased at various international festivals. It is set to be screened at the Red Sea Film Festival in December. Produced by Curiosa Films and Gaumont, The Wizard of the Kremlin offers a cautionary tale about the political landscape in Moscow and its implications for the West. French distribution and international sales are managed by Gaumont.
