Veterans Day 2021: Honoring Military Service with Free Meals and Discounts at Restaurants

Veterans Day is a time to honor and appreciate those who have served in the military, and many restaurants across the country are showing their gratitude by offering free meals, discounts, and other perks to veterans and active-duty service members. To take advantage of these offers, most establishments will require proof of military ID, and some may require online registration with ID.me for verification.
Since Veterans Day 2020, current military service members, veterans, and gold star families have been granted lifetime free access to national parks, wildlife refuges, and other federal lands managed by the Department of the Interior. This initiative aims to recognize and thank those who have served our country.
Several restaurants are participating in honoring veterans and active-duty military personnel this Veterans Day. Applebee's is offering a complimentary entree from an exclusive menu to active duty military, veterans, reserves, and National Guard members, along with a $5 credit for their next meal. Bar Louie, BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse, California Pizza Kitchen, Chili's, Chipotle, Cracker Barrel, Dave & Buster’s, Firehouse Subs, Friendly’s, Hooters, IHOP, Kona Grill, Little Caesars, Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que, McAlister's Deli, Outback Steakhouse, Perry's Steakhouse & Grille, Red Robin, Starbucks, STK Steakhouse, and Twin Peaks are among the restaurants offering special deals and discounts to veterans and active-duty military members.
These offers range from complimentary meals to discounts on food and beverages, and in some cases, free appetizers, desserts, or beverages. Veterans and active-duty military personnel are encouraged to check with individual restaurants for specific details on how to redeem these offers and enjoy a well-deserved treat on Veterans Day.
