Dancing with the Stars: Balancing Commitments and Family Life
"He bursts into tears and says: ‘I hate this job, why did you take this job?!” Danielle recalled. “‘I want you to quit, are you going to quit or not?’”She then broke down just how much of a commitment DWTS is, with everything from rehearsals to interviews to costume fittings taking up her time, in addition to hosting multiple podcasts.
“My dad called maybe about two weeks ago, and he said: ‘What I really want to know is how are the kids handling it, because this is such a total change for them,’” Danielle went on. “And at the time, the very honest truth was they were thriving. Like, Jensen was doing great, everybody’s getting along fine.”Danielle also said that when she was home, her kids always seemed enthusiastic about what she had been doing and wanted to watch videos of her dances.
However, a couple of days after her phone call with her dad, she received a call from Adler’s teacher at school.
In the call, the teacher expressed concerns about Adler’s behavior and how he was struggling with Danielle’s absence. This news hit Danielle hard, making her question her decision to continue with DWTS. She realized the toll it was taking on her family, especially her son, and had to reevaluate her priorities.
Despite the challenges, Danielle found a way to balance her commitments and family life. She made changes to ensure she could be present for her children while still pursuing her passion for dancing. This experience taught her valuable lessons about the importance of communication, understanding, and finding a healthy work-life balance.
