High School Basketball Season Preview: Pasadena and Arcadia Teams Ready to Shine

Arcadia basketball coach Nick Wallace is optimistic about the upcoming season with five returning starters. Pasadena also looks promising with the addition of high-scoring guard Tim Anderson and the return of 6-foot-11 Josh Irving. One player to watch is 6-8 sophomore Owen Eteuati Edwards, who had a busy summer playing basketball and pitching for the Dodgers’ scout team. Edwards believes leadership was key to the Dodgers' success in Game 7 of the World Series. He enjoys competitive one-on-one games with his older brother, Noa, who is also on the basketball team. Edwards considers himself a basketball player who also plays baseball.
Pasadena's addition of Tim Anderson, who averaged 31.4 points per game at Blair last season, adds offensive power to the team. With Troy Wilson's return and Josh Irving's improved skills, the Bulldogs are expected to showcase their dunking abilities. The Pacific League, which will merge with the Rio Hondo League after this season, welcomes new head coaches at Crescenta Valley and Burroughs.
