Kid Rock Honors Charlie Kirk with Emotional Performance at Hondo Rodeo Fest

Kid Rock recently stepped in for Cody Johnson at the Hondo Rodeo Fest in Arizona, where he performed Johnson's No.1 hit, " 'Till You Can't," with an added verse dedicated to the late political activist Charlie Kirk. Rock, filling in for Johnson who is recovering from surgery, shared a personal experience that inspired him to write the additional lyrics, which focused on faith and redemption. Kirk, known for his strong religious beliefs, was tragically assassinated during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. He left behind his wife Erika Kirk and two young children, with Erika taking over his nonprofit organization Turning Point USA. Many country stars, including Jason Aldean, paid tribute to Kirk after his passing, with Aldean and his wife presenting Erika with the Charlie Kirk Legacy Award at the 2025 Patriot Awards.
