High School Girls Tennis Playoffs: Divisional Semifinals Recap and Finals Preview

High school girls tennis teams competed in the Southern Section playoffs on Wednesday, with several exciting matches taking place. In the Division 1 semifinals, Corona del Mar defeated Mater Dei 13-5, while Portola secured a narrow victory over Mira Costa with a 9-9 scoreline, winning on games 68-67. In Division 2, Calabasas triumphed over Woodbridge 10-8, and Harvard-Westlake dominated Crean Lutheran with a 15-3 win. Temple City emerged victorious over Whitney 11-7 in Division 3, and Flintridge Prep edged out Campbell Hall 9-9, winning on games. Oaks Christian defeated Pasadena Poly 11-7 in Division 4, and Agoura overcame Torrance 12-6. Valencia secured a 10-8 win over Burbank in Division 5, while Lakewood St. Joseph also won 10-8 against Cerritos. In Division 6, Villa Park defeated Flintridge Sacred Heart 10-8, and Village Christian emerged victorious over Saugus with a 13-5 win. The Division 7 matchup between Laguna Hills and Malibu was scheduled, while Oakwood defeated Segerstrom 11-7 in Division 7. In Division 8, Bishop Diego secured a 10-8 win over Tahquitz, and Garden Grove Santiago also won 10-8 against Oxnard.

The finals are set to take place on Monday at the University of Redlands. The Division 1 final will feature a showdown between Portola and Corona Del Mar at 3:15 p.m. In Division 2, Calabasas will face off against Harvard-Westlake at 3 p.m. Flintridge Prep will compete against Temple City at 12 p.m. in the Division 3 final, while Oaks Christian will take on Agoura at 12:15 p.m. in Division 4. The Division 5 final will see Valencia go up against Lakewood St. Joseph at 11 a.m., and Villa Park will compete against Village Christian at 11:10 a.m. in Division 6. The Division 7 final will feature the winner of the Laguna Hills vs. Malibu matchup against Oakwood at 1:30 p.m., and Bishop Diego will face Garden Grove Santiago at 1:40 p.m. in the Division 8 final.
