Jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. Makes Triumphant Return to Racing at Churchill Downs

Jockey Brian Hernandez Jr., who recently won the Kentucky Derby, has made a successful comeback to racing after a serious injury. He returned to the winner's circle at Churchill Downs by winning the eighth race on Sir Greylind. Hernandez had suffered severe injuries in a previous incident at Churchill Downs when his horse broke down, resulting in broken ribs, a punctured lung, and a lacerated liver. He underwent surgery to repair his liver and received rehabilitation treatment at Norton Healthcare, which he credits for his recovery.

Hernandez expressed gratitude for the physical therapy he received at Churchill Downs in partnership with Norton Healthcare. He is now back in the saddle and eager to resume his racing routine. Although he missed the Breeders' Cup due to his injury, he is scheduled to ride in several races at Churchill Downs with 14 mounts over four days, starting on Thursday and continuing through the weekend.

Despite the setback from his injury, Hernandez is determined to continue his successful career as a jockey. His return to racing at Churchill Downs marks a significant milestone in his recovery journey.
