Meet the Creative Team Behind 'SNL U.K.': A Fresh Take on Iconic Sketch Comedy

The upcoming U.K. version of the iconic sketch comedy show "Saturday Night Live" has announced its key creative team members. James Longman, a former producer from "The Late Late Show With James Corden," will lead the production team. Liz Clare, known for directing live events like the BRIT Awards and "An Audience With Adele," will direct the series. Daran Jonno Johnson, a member of the comedy group Sheeps and writer of the Disney+ film "Wedding Season," will be the head writer.

James Longman expressed his excitement about returning to London's lively comedy scene and being part of the legacy of "Saturday Night Live." The U.K. adaptation of the show, titled "SNL U.K.," is scheduled to premiere on Sky and NOW next year. The series will maintain the same live, fast-paced format as the original, featuring a new cast of comedy performers, guest hosts, and musical acts.

"SNL U.K." will be produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio's U.K. production team and Broadway Video for Sky and NOW. The U.K. production team is led by managing director Helen Kruger Bratt, with Shanna Baynard as the executive in charge of production and Andy Smith as the lead producer. The show is executive produced by Lorne Michaels, the creator of the original "Saturday Night Live."

The announcement of the creative team for "SNL U.K." was first reported by Deadline Hollywood. The show aims to bring the iconic live sketch comedy format to London with a fresh perspective and a talented team of creators and performers.
