Curacao Makes History: Smallest Country to Qualify for World Cup Finals

Curacao has made history by becoming the smallest country to qualify for a World Cup finals. The Caribbean island nation, with a population of just over 156,000 and a land area of 444 square kilometers, achieved this feat by securing a 0-0 draw on the final day of Concacaf qualifying. Surpassing Iceland's previous record, Curacao remained unbeaten throughout their qualification campaign, including a remarkable 7-0 victory over Bermuda. Managed by former Premier League manager Dick Advocaat, Curacao will now await the draw on December 5 at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. to discover their group stage opponents for their historic World Cup debut.
