Upper Iowa Peacocks Make History with First Division II Bowl Appearance in Albanese Candy Bowl

Upper Iowa's football season continues as they have accepted an invitation to play in the Albanese Candy Bowl in Hobart, Indiana on December 6. This will be the first Division II bowl appearance for the Peacocks in program history. The game, previously known as the America's Crossroads Bowl, is one of three NCAA Division II bowl games sponsored nationally in 2025.

The Peacocks, with an 8-3 overall record, finished third in the Great Lakes Valley Athletic Conference (GLVAC) with a 6-2 mark. This season's success ties the program record for most victories, matching the achievements of the 1964 and 1966 teams. Their opponent in the Albanese Candy Bowl will be Hillsdale College from Michigan, who finished fifth in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) with a 6-5 overall record and a 5-4 conference record.

The Peacocks are looking forward to the challenge of facing Hillsdale College in the Albanese Candy Bowl. This opportunity to compete in a postseason bowl game is a significant milestone for the Upper Iowa football program. The team's hard work and dedication throughout the season have paid off with this invitation, and they are eager to showcase their skills on a national stage.
