Game of Thrones Universe Expands: 'House of the Dragon' and 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' Renewed for Multiple Seasons

Get ready to immerse yourself in the world of Westeros for the next few years as HBO has renewed both "House of the Dragon" and "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms." The early renewals were announced by HBO, even before the debut of the first season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" and ahead of the third season of "House of the Dragon."
The second season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is scheduled to premiere in 2027, while fans can anticipate the fourth season of "House of the Dragon" to arrive in 2028. HBO Programming EVP Francesca Orsi expressed excitement about continuing to bring new seasons of these series to the dedicated fans of the "Game of Thrones" universe.
"A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is set 100 years before the original "Game of Thrones" series and follows the adventures of Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg as they navigate the challenges of Westeros. The show is described as a more grounded tale focusing on the working class of Westeros, created and executive produced by George R.R. Martin and Ira Parker.
Meanwhile, "House of the Dragon" will return for its third season in 2026, delving deeper into the war between Black and Green factions. The series follows the civil war of succession between Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower, with Ryan Condal serving as co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner.
Fans can catch up on the first two seasons of "House of the Dragon" on HBO Max, while the first season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" is set to premiere on January 18, with new episodes released weekly. The expansive and richly imagined universe of George R.R. Martin continues to captivate audiences with these two series, promising epic battles and intriguing storylines for years to come.
