President Trump Honors Israeli Hostages at White House: A Tribute to Resilience and Heroism

President Donald Trump recently met with Israeli hostages who were held captive by Hamas and their loved ones at the White House. Trump greeted 17 survivors who were released a month ago and presented them with a Presidential Challenge Coin, acknowledging their heroism and expressing admiration for their resilience. The last living hostages in Gaza were freed in October with the assistance of the Trump administration.

One of the hostages, Matan Angrest, a former Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldier, shared his harrowing experience of being kidnapped while defending an outpost. His mother recounted the severe torture he endured during his captivity, highlighting his strength and resilience. Trump commended Matan for his courage and unwavering spirit, recognizing him as an inspiration to all.

Israeli twins, Gali and Ziv Berman, also attended the event and presented Trump with a mezuzah from their home, symbolizing their gratitude for his efforts in securing their release. They emphasized the importance of bringing back all hostages to fully begin the healing process for their community and nation. The gesture of presenting the mezuzah to Trump symbolized protection, faith, and the enduring bond between the Israeli people and the United States.
