Shine on You Crazy Diamond: Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here 50th Anniversary Reissue Celebration
Pink Floyd's iconic album, Wish You Were Here, features the two-part song "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" that pays tribute to their late bandmate Syd Barrett. The band has now combined the two parts into one full track, titled "Shine on You Crazy Diamond (pts. 1-9, New Stereo Mix)." This 25-minute song has been mixed in stereo by James Guthrie and is part of Pink Floyd's 50th-anniversary reissue of the album, Wish You Were Here 50, set to release on Dec. 12.
To celebrate the album's reissue, comedian and Great British Baking Show co-host Noel Fielding has created a series of original paintings inspired by Barrett's art. Fielding expresses his admiration for Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett, highlighting the significance of the album's artwork and music. The reissue will be available in various formats, including a three-LP or two-CD set containing the original album and 25 bonus tracks, including six previously unreleased songs.
In addition to the standard sets, fans can also purchase a Blu-ray edition featuring Dolby Atmos and 5.1 Surround mixes, three concert films from Pink Floyd's 1975 tour, and a short film by Storm Thorgerson.
