Legal Action Against Agricultural Corporation Co-Owned by BTS's Jin and Baek Jong Won for Labeling Violations

An agricultural corporation co-owned by BTS’s Jin and The Borne CEO Baek Jong Won is facing legal action for allegedly breaching the country’s original labeling regulations. The Yesan Office of the Chungnam Branch of the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service has referred Baeksuldolga and its affiliate to the Hongseong Branch of the Daejeon District Prosecutor’s Office for violating the Country of Origin Labeling Act. Baeksuldoga, known for selling the IGIN Highball Tonic series, has been accused of mislabeling its Plum and Watermelon products as domestically produced, despite using imported concentrates from Chile and the U.S. Both companies are under the leadership of Jin and Baek Jong Won, who invested in the venture together.

The complainant emphasized that Jin, a globally influential artist, should bear moral responsibility for the alleged violation of the country of origin labeling laws by a company in which he has a financial stake. According to the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, online agricultural businesses can only label products as domestically produced if all raw materials, excluding specific items like water, alcohol, sugar, and food additives, are sourced domestically. The federation conducted a review to determine if the company had breached the origin labeling regulations, potentially causing confusion among consumers.

The revelation that Jin is not only a model but also an investor has surprised many netizens. The case highlights the importance of adhering to labeling laws and ensuring transparency in product information. It serves as a reminder that even high-profile individuals must uphold ethical standards in their business ventures.
