Swift Response and Heroic Rescue: Fall River Fire Department's Efforts on Snell Street

A fire broke out on a Friday night in Fall River, prompting a swift response from the fire department. The firefighters from Engine 2, Engine 4, Engine 9, Ladder 2, Ladder 4, Heavy Rescue 1, and Car 3 were dispatched to 135 Snell Street around 11:30 p.m. The crews found a fire on the second floor, which Engine 4 quickly extinguished with a hose line.
During the operation, a child was reported to be trapped inside the building, leading to immediate search efforts. Ladder 2 accessed the apartment using ground ladders, while Engine 2 searched the adjacent unit. Fortunately, the firefighters from Engine 2 located the child and safely rescued him using a ladder.
The presence of four firefighters on several apparatus at the scene played a crucial role in the efficient handling of the situation. This additional staffing enabled a faster deployment of the hose line, contained the fire, and bolstered the search team, ultimately aiding in the swift rescue of the child.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
