Jimmy Page's Musical Evolution: From Led Zeppelin to XYZ

Jimmy Page's journey in the 1960s was focused on creating a band that reflected his vision and talent. After finding success with the Yardbirds, Page decided to form Led Zeppelin with Robert Plant, recognizing Plant's exceptional voice as a crucial element in the band's success. The tragic death of their drummer, John Bonham, in 1980 led to the band's dissolution, as they believed that replacing a member would not be the same. Page found himself seeking a new musical venture after Bonham's passing and briefly collaborated with members of Yes to form the short-lived XYZ project. Plant declined to join the project, citing the music as too complex and possibly feeling it was too soon to reunite with Page without the full original band.
