YELLOW's Thanksgiving Food and Essentials Drive in Norfolk, Virginia: Uniting Communities for a Cause

Pharrell Williams' nonprofit organization, YELLOW, recently held a food and essentials drive in Norfolk, Virginia, in preparation for Thanksgiving. The drive took place at 118 W. Bute St. and aimed to collect non-perishable food items, as well as home and hygiene essentials such as toothpaste, toilet paper, diapers, shampoo, and laundry detergent. The event ran from noon to 5 p.m. on a Sunday.
YELLOW's Executive Director, Stacey Owsley, emphasized the importance of community collaboration during these challenging economic times, especially as the holiday season approaches. The organization's goal is to support those in need, including families, friends, neighbors, military personnel, government workers, and others who may be impacted by current circumstances.
YELLOW's mission is to integrate community and culture, and the food and essentials drive served not only to collect goods but also to raise awareness about the socio-economic disparities affecting the region. Owsley highlighted the significance of coming together, pooling resources, and standing united to provide meaningful relief to the community.
All items collected during the drive will be sorted and distributed to local families identified by YELLOW, as well as community organizations, to ensure that the donations reach as many families in Hampton Roads as possible. The organizers are committed to making a positive impact and supporting those in need during these challenging times.
