TelevisaUnivision and YouTube TV End Blackout: Univision Returns to Lineup

TelevisaUnivision and Google have reached a new agreement that ends the 56-day blackout of Univision and other Spanish-language networks on YouTube TV. The deal includes Univision, UniMás, Galavisión, and TUDN sports channels on YouTube TV's Base Plan and Spanish Plan, with Univision returning to the lineup on November 26. Additionally, ViX premium streaming service from TelevisaUnivision will be available for purchase in the U.S. through YouTube's Primetime Channels subscription hub, expanding to more countries in 2026, starting with Mexico.

The blackout occurred after the previous agreement between YouTube TV and TelevisaUnivision expired, leading to a dispute over pricing. Univision, the largest Spanish-language broadcaster in the U.S., was removed from YouTube TV on September 30. The resolution of this standoff comes amidst a year of challenging deal-renewal negotiations for YouTube TV, with other networks like ESPN, ABC, and Disney also facing temporary blackouts before reaching agreements.

President Donald Trump even weighed in on the Univision blackout, expressing concern about its impact on Republicans in the upcoming Midterms. TelevisaUnivision CEO Daniel Alegre emphasized the importance of the agreement in providing Hispanic viewers with access to news, sports, and entertainment. Both TelevisaUnivision and YouTube expressed excitement about the partnership and the opportunity to expand Spanish-language content on the platform.

Spanish-language content remains highly popular on YouTube, with over 9 billion views per day of Spanish-language videos worldwide on the main YouTube app in June 2025. The agreement between TelevisaUnivision and YouTube aims to cater to the growing demand for Spanish-language programming and provide a wide range of content to viewers.
