Blade and Blade II: Marvel's Classic Vampire Movies Coming to Prime Video

Marvel fans will soon have the opportunity to stream two classic vampire movies, Blade and Blade II, on Prime Video. These films, starring Wesley Snipes as the lead character, are based on the Marvel comic book character Blade. The first movie, Blade, was released in 1998 and was a significant success, leading to the creation of Blade II in 2002. Both movies were written by David S. Goyer, with Stephen Norrington directing the first film and Guillermo del Toro taking the helm for the second.

Blade and Blade II will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting December 30, 2025. These movies played a crucial role in the early days of superhero films, paving the way for the genre's dominance in today's global box office. Wesley Snipes' portrayal of the vampire hunter Eric Brooks, also known as Blade, solidified his status as an iconic superhero star. Snipes reprised his role as Blade in the 2024 film Deadpool & Wolverine.

The cast of Blade includes Stephen Dorff as Deacon Frost, Kris Kristofferson as Abraham Whistler, N'Bushe Wright as Dr. Karen Jenson, Udo Kier as Gitano Dragonetti, and Donal Logue as Quinn. Blade II featured returning cast member Kris Kristofferson alongside Norman Reedus, Ron Perlman, Leonor Varela, Thomas Kretschmann, Donnie Yen, and Luke Goss in supporting roles.

Blade II marked Guillermo del Toro's fourth feature film and was followed by his acclaimed works such as Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth. Del Toro's latest project, an adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, recently premiered on Netflix. Marvel fans can look forward to revisiting the thrilling world of Blade and Blade II when these classic vampire movies hit Prime Video later this year.
