Shannen Doherty's Estate in Legal Dispute with Ex-Husband Over Financial Matters

Shannen Doherty's estate is in a legal dispute with her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko over financial matters following the actress's passing. The trustee of Doherty's trust and executor of her will, Christopher Cortazzo, has filed court documents alleging that Iswarienko has not fulfilled the terms of their divorce settlement. The settlement required Iswarienko to sell a property in Texas and split the proceeds with Doherty, among other financial obligations.
The estate claims that Iswarienko has not listed the Texas property for sale as agreed upon in the settlement. Additionally, Iswarienko has allegedly failed to provide a list of his artwork and return items owned by Doherty. The settlement also stipulated that Doherty would receive a portion of the licensing fees Iswarienko earns from his photographs.
As part of the settlement, Iswarienko was supposed to buy out Doherty's interest in an airplane and sell a related hangar, but he has reportedly not paid the estate its share of the proceeds. The settlement also awarded Doherty her mansion in Malibu, various accounts, and residuals from her acting work, while Iswarienko received other assets and accounts.
Doherty had waived her right to spousal support from Iswarienko and detailed her financial situation in a court declaration before her passing. The actress expressed concerns about her future income due to health issues and the impending end of streaming for the show "Charmed," which was a significant source of her residual income. Doherty and Iswarienko were married in 2011, and she filed for divorce in 2023.
Despite the legal dispute, Doherty had expressed her wishes for her ashes to be scattered in Malibu, a place that held sentimental value to her. The ongoing legal battle between Doherty's estate and Iswarienko highlights the complexities of financial matters following a divorce and the importance of adhering to settlement agreements.
