Shrek 5 Cast Announcement: Marcello Hernández and Skyler Gisondo Join the Family!

Exciting news has emerged this Thanksgiving morning as Marcello Hernández from Saturday Night Live and Skyler Gisondo from Superman have been added to the voice cast of Shrek 5. They will be portraying Shrek and Fiona's sons, Fergus and Farkle, joining the returning cast members Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz in their iconic roles. Zendaya will also be part of the cast as Shrek and Fiona's daughter, Felicia. The highly anticipated animated movie, produced by DreamWorks Animation and Universal, is set to hit theaters on June 30, 2027.
Shrek 5 is being directed by Conrad Vernon and Walt Dohrn, both known for their work in the Shrek franchise. Vernon, who has directed films like Shrek 2 and Madagascar 2, also voices the character of Gingerbread Man. Dohrn, who worked on previous Shrek films as a writer and artist, as well as voicing Rumpelstilskin in Shrek Forever After, brings his expertise to the project. The movie will be produced by Gina Shay and Chris Meledandri, with co-direction by Brad Ableson.
The Shrek franchise has been a massive success, with the four previous movies collectively earning close to $3 billion worldwide. The first film, released in 2001, even won the first-ever Oscar for an Animated Feature. The franchise has expanded beyond the big screen, with a live-touring show, a Tony-nominated Broadway musical, and popular attractions at Universal Studios Parks worldwide.
Marcello Hernández is represented by CAA, LBI Entertainment, and Patti Felkner, while Skyler Gisondo is represented by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, and Jackoway Tyerman. The addition of these talented actors to the cast of Shrek 5 promises an exciting continuation of the beloved franchise. Fans can look forward to seeing the new generation of Shrek and Fiona's family on the big screen in 2027.
