USC Trojans Host Top Recruits in Final In-Season Recruiting Push
The No. 17 USC Trojans are gearing up to welcome a group of highly touted recruits as they face off against UCLA this weekend. This marks the final in-season recruiting opportunity for the Trojans to impress potential future players before the offseason. USC is poised to secure the top-ranked recruiting class in the upcoming early signing period, boasting 35 commitments in the 2026 cycle, the second-highest in the nation behind North Carolina. The Trojans are aiming to become the first non-SEC school since 2015 to claim the top spot in recruiting rankings.
Among the recruits visiting USC this weekend is five-star tight end Mark Bowman from Mater Dei, who has reaffirmed his commitment to the Trojans by attending nearly every home game this season. Joining him is four-star defensive lineman Tomuhini Topui, who switched his commitment from Oregon to USC earlier this year. Additionally, four-star linebacker Shaun Scott from Hun School is expected to be in attendance, showcasing the close-knit bond within the Trojans' 2026 recruiting class.
Five-star edge Luke Wafle from Mater Dei will be experiencing his second game day at USC, accompanied by his brother Dylan Wafle, a 2027 linebacker who recently received an offer from the Trojans. Notable recruits from out of state include five-star cornerback Elbert Hill from Archbishop Hoban, four-star running back Shahn Alston from Harvey, and four-star quarterback Jonas Williams from Lincoln-Way East, all making the trip to the West Coast to visit USC.
In an effort to strengthen their recruiting pipelines, USC is focusing on building relationships with Mater Dei for the 2026 class and beyond. High-priority targets for the Trojans in the 2027 class include four-star cornerbacks Aaryn Washington and Danny Lang, along with three-star IOL Lex Mailangi. USC is also looking to secure the commitment of four-star cornerback Duvay Williams from Serra, a school that has produced notable USC alumni in the past.
As the Trojans continue to solidify their recruiting efforts, hosting a talented group of prospects this weekend could further bolster their standing in the college football recruiting landscape. USC's commitment to building strong relationships with high school programs across the country underscores their dedication to securing top-tier talent for the future.
