Whitney Leavitt's Bold Statement: Dancing with the Stars Journey and Post-Elimination Reflections

Whitney Leavitt, a contestant on "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," made a bold statement to her critics following her elimination from "Dancing with the Stars." The day after the season 34 finale crowned Robert Irwin and Witney Carson as the winners, Leavitt and her partner, Mark Ballas, appeared on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast to perform a final freestyle dance that was originally intended for the finale. Despite being eliminated in the semi-finals, Leavitt and Ballas were able to showcase their dance on the podcast.
During the podcast episode, Leavitt and Ballas performed a dance routine to Frank Sinatra's "My Way," incorporating sparkly outfit changes, fake blood, and metaphors related to the online hate they have received during their time on the show. Ballas also shared some of the hateful messages he received while competing on the show, highlighting the negativity they faced.
Leavitt expressed that she has become somewhat desensitized to fame due to her reality television background but found it challenging to watch Ballas experience the hate for the first time. She also mentioned feeling responsible for the negativity directed at Ballas because of their partnership on the show, leading to a rollercoaster of emotions for her.
Following their elimination, Leavitt posted a tearful video on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for the experience on "Dancing with the Stars" and the friendships she formed, particularly with Ballas. Despite suspecting that her drama on "Mormon Wives" may have influenced her elimination, both Leavitt and Ballas acknowledged that eliminations on the show can be unpredictable and sometimes happen unexpectedly.
In the finale, Robert Irwin and Witney Carson emerged as the winners, defeating influencer Alix Earle and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy. Irwin celebrated their victory on Instagram, sharing his excitement and gratitude for the achievement. Even Prince William and Kate Middleton congratulated him on the win, adding to the joyous moment for the winning duo.
