John Travolta recently reprised his iconic role as Santa Claus in a Capital One Quicksilver credit card commercial. In the ad, Travolta, dressed as a modern Santa, dances and sings a holiday version of “Greased Lightnin’” from the musical “Grease.” The lyrics have been updated to include references to the credit card benefits. Travolta traded his black leather jacket for a red one that reads “S - Claus” and is joined by elves working on a sleigh that resembles the car from the film. The commercial ends with Travolta flying into the night, reminiscent of the ending of “Grease.” This is not the first time Travolta has revisited his classic movies with a holiday twist, as he previously did a spot with Samuel L. Jackson referencing “Pulp Fiction” and another one inspired by “Saturday Night Fever.” The commercials add a festive touch to the iconic films and showcase Travolta’s enduring charm and talent.
