Taylor Swift's 'The Life of a Showgirl' Holds No. 1 on Billboard 200 for Seven Weeks

Taylor Swift's album "The Life of a Showgirl" continues to dominate the Billboard 200 chart in America, holding the top spot for seven consecutive weeks. Despite a decrease in the number of units sold each week, the album remains a strong performer in Swift's discography, tying with other fan-favorite albums for one of her longest-running champions.

Since its debut in mid-October, "The Life of a Showgirl" has fended off competition from other popular projects, maintaining its position at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album now shares the fifth spot for the most weeks at the top with Swift's album "Red," which spent seven weeks at No. 1 in 2012.

Previously, "The Life of a Showgirl" was on par with three other Swift classics, including "Speak Now," "Midnights," and "1989 (Taylor's Version)," all of which ruled the Billboard 200 for six weeks. If the album can secure another week at No. 1, it will match the eight-week reign of Swift's album "Folklore."

Despite a decline in sales, "The Life of a Showgirl" made history by debuting with over four million equivalent units and maintaining its position at the top of the Billboard 200. However, with sales dropping to 93,000 equivalent units in the latest frame, the album's reign at No. 1 may soon come to an end.

As South Korean boy band Stray Kids and the soundtrack for the musical film "Wicked: For Good" are expected to make strong debuts on the Billboard 200, "The Life of a Showgirl" may be dethroned in the coming weeks. Nevertheless, the album could see a resurgence in sales, especially with the holiday season approaching and potential promotional efforts from Swift.
