Muni Long Withdraws from "The Boy is Mine" Tour Due to Health Concerns

Muni Long has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the "The Boy is Mine" tour headlined by Monica and Brandy due to health concerns. The singer, known as Priscilla Renea Hamilton, has been battling health issues related to lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that predominantly affects Black women. Despite her efforts to continue performing, her doctors advised against it for her safety.
Long has been candid about the challenges of living with lupus, sharing her experiences on social media. She described how the disease causes various symptoms, such as pain and skin discoloration. Earlier this year, she had to cancel a show due to a lupus flare-up, emphasizing that the condition can be unpredictable and debilitating.
The tour, which kicked off in October, initially included Long as one of the openers alongside Kelly Rowland, Coco Jones, and Jamal Roberts. However, Long's health issues forced her to step back, leading to Mya filling in for her in some cities. Despite her absence, the tour will continue as planned, with no replacement announced for Long.
In a statement posted on the tour's official Instagram page, the organizers expressed gratitude for Long's contributions and emphasized their support for her decision to prioritize her health. They acknowledged her talent and energy, wishing her a speedy recovery and sending love and healing energy her way. The tour will move forward with the remaining dates, ensuring that fans can still enjoy the performances.
