Remembering Diane Ladd: Laura Dern's Tribute to Her Mother on Her 90th Birthday

Laura Dern pays tribute to her late mother, Diane Ladd, on what would have been her 90th birthday. Dern shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing her love and admiration for her mother, who she describes as an extraordinary person. She also posted a black-and-white throwback photo of Ladd.

Diane Ladd passed away at the age of 89, with Laura Dern by her side. Dern shared a touching statement with The Hollywood Reporter, honoring her mother's legacy as a daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist, and empathetic spirit. Ladd's cause of death was later revealed to be acute on chronic hypoxic respiratory failure, with underlying conditions of interstitial lung disease and esophageal dysmotility.

Following Ladd's death, Laura's father, Bruce Dern, also paid tribute to his ex-wife, praising her acting talent and dedication to her craft. Ladd and Bruce were married from 1960 to 1969 and shared two daughters, including Laura. Ladd was also married to William A. Shea Jr and Robert Charles Hunter, who passed away months before her own death.

Robert Charles Hunter's family remembered him fondly, highlighting his intellectual curiosity and love for Texas. Hunter, who authored books on origins and energy, found peace and joy in Fort Worth, where he passed away while visiting his children. Laura Dern continues to cherish the memories of her late mother and stepfather, honoring their legacies in her own way.
