Zootopia 2 Dominates Holiday Box Office: A Record-Breaking Success

Zootopia 2 dominated the holiday box office, grossing $96.8 million over the weekend and $154 million over the full five-day holiday period. It had the second-biggest Thanksgiving opening ever, behind Moana 2. The movie was a massive success internationally, especially in China, where it broke records, earning over $556 million globally.
Wicked: For Good, despite a strong CinemaScore, did not perform as well as expected, bringing in $62 million compared to the first film's $81 million in the same frame. However, its $270 million domestic total is impressive, and a spinoff or follow-up is likely in the works.
Now You See Me: Now You Don't had a solid week-three hold, dropping only 22% to gross $7 million for a $49 million domestic total. The film is a major overseas hit, with $187 million globally, hinting at a possible sequel.
Predator: Badlands continued its mixed performance, earning $4.8 million for an $85 million domestic total. It is expected to reach around $95 million domestically and $200 million internationally. Alien vs. Predator could be the next project greenlit by 20th Century Studios.
The Running Man struggled at the box office, earning $3.7 million for a total of $34.2 million. A24's Eternity, starring Elizabeth Olsen, performed moderately well with $3.1 million. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, released on Netflix, is estimated to have made around $2.5 million.
Rental Family, starring Brendan Fraser, earned $2.1 million for a total of $7.3 million. Hamnet had a strong specialty debut with $880K on 119 screens. Sisu: Road to Revenge saw a significant drop in earnings, making a sequel unlikely.
Nuremberg continued to perform well, earning $750K on 540 screens for a $12.5 million domestic total. The upcoming release of Blumhouse's Five Nights at Freddy's 2 will be closely watched to see if it follows the success of The Black Phone 2 or the disappointment of M3GAN 2.0.
