The Prince and Princess of Wales Host German State Visit: A Royal Welcome and Regal Events

The Prince and Princess of Wales are playing a significant role in the beginning of the German state visit by welcoming the President and First Lady to the UK. Princess Catherine showcased British fashion by wearing a Burberry dress and a coat by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. She accessorized with earrings that belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, and the iconic Feathers Brooch, a valuable heirloom given to Diana by the Queen Mother in 1981.
William and Catherine are accompanying the royal guests on a nine-mile journey to Windsor, where a carriage procession will take place through the town. The procession will end at Windsor Castle's Quadrangle, where a Guard of Honour will give a Royal Salute and the German and British National Anthems will be played. The King and the President will inspect the Guard of Honour before having a private lunch inside the Castle.
The day's highlights also include viewing Royal Collection Trust items related to Germany and attending a state banquet in St. George's Hall, where both the King and President Steinmeier will deliver speeches. The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to dress up for the evening event.
