Blumhouse's 2025 Sequels: Hits and Misses at the Box Office

Blumhouse has had a mixed year with sequels in 2025, with varying results from successful to disappointing. "The Black Phone 2" was a hit, earning $77 million domestically, while "M3GAN 2.0" flopped with only $24 million. The upcoming spin-off "SOULM8TE" is not getting much promotion.
The original "Five Nights at Freddy’s" defied negative reviews and made $80 million, even with a Peacock release. The sequel, set for a theatrical release, is expected to open at around $35 million, still strong due to its fanbase but not as impressive as the first film.
"Zootopia 2" is projected to have a strong second weekend with an estimated $50 million, while "Wicked: For Good" is expected to land around $30 million. Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" is predicted to come in fifth place with approximately $8 million.
"GKIDS’ Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution" is likely to continue the success of anime in theaters with an estimated $12 million weekend. Share your movie plans for the weekend in the comments!
