Hawaii Bowl Showdown: UH Rainbow Warriors vs. Cal Golden Bears with Strong Hawaii Connections

The upcoming Hawaii Bowl on December 24 will feature a matchup between the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and the California Golden Bears, creating a game with strong Hawaii connections. Both teams will showcase left-handed freshman quarterbacks, Micah Alejado for UH and Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele for Cal, along with former UH quarterbacks turned coaches, Timmy Chang and Nick Rolovich. Alejado, a redshirt freshman from Hawaii, will face off against Sagapolutele, a true freshman standout from Campbell High School, in what promises to be an exciting game at the Ching Complex at 3 p.m.

Nick Rolovich, the interim head coach for the California Golden Bears, is expected to lead the team in the Hawaii Bowl despite reports of Oregon defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi taking over as the new Cal coach. Rolovich, a former UH coach, stepped in as the interim coach after Justin Wilcox's departure. Lupoi, along with Oregon OC Will Stein, will continue with the Ducks through the College Football Playoffs, as confirmed by Oregon coach Dan Lanning.
