Legal Battle Between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni Over "It Ends With Us" Film Production: A Closer Look

Blake Lively's legal team is challenging Justin Baldoni's request for summary judgment, claiming that he is trying to avoid accountability for creating a hostile environment during the production and promotion of the film "It Ends With Us." They argue that Baldoni and his company Wayfarer Studios are denying Lively her day in court and throwing various accusations at her sexual harassment and retaliation claims. Lively's attorneys allege that the defendants created a hostile environment and failed to investigate complaints, responding instead by attacking Lively's character when she raised concerns about mistreatment.

The film "It Ends With Us" was a commercial success, grossing $351 million on a $25 million budget, but the behind-the-scenes drama has led to a legal battle between Lively and Baldoni. Lively has sued Baldoni, the film's producers, and publicists, claiming she was subjected to a social media smear campaign after speaking out against Baldoni's alleged sexual harassment. Baldoni previously sued Lively and Ryan Reynolds for defamation, but his claims were dismissed by the court.

Baldoni's attorneys argue that Lively's grievances are minor and do not constitute adverse employment actions necessary to prove retaliation. They defend Baldoni's actions as an attempt to protect his reputation through crisis-management public relations. However, Lively's legal team contends that Baldoni's representatives attacked her character and reputation intentionally and repeatedly.

If Baldoni's motion for summary judgment is unsuccessful, a trial is scheduled for March. A spokesperson for Baldoni has not yet commented on the matter.
