Netflix's 'Tygo': A Thrilling Korean Action Film Starring Blackpink's Lisa and Don Lee

Netflix has announced the upcoming action thriller "Tygo," featuring Blackpink member Lalisa "Lisa" Manobal, alongside Korean action star Don Lee and "Squid Game" actor Lee Jin-uk. This project is an extension of Netflix's popular "Extraction" franchise, showcasing Korean filmmaking talent. The film is based on an original graphic novel by Anthony and Joe Russo with Ande Parks, and it will be produced by Big Punch Pictures, AGBO, and TGIM, with Nova Film Inc and B&C Group as co-producers.

"Tygo" follows the story of Tygo (Don Lee), a former child soldier turned mercenary seeking revenge in Korea's criminal underworld. The movie will be written by Cha Woo-jin and directed by Lee Sang-yong, known for his work on "The Roundup" series. Lisa expressed her excitement about being part of the project, stating that starring in an action film has always been a dream of hers.

Don Lee, known for his roles in the "The Roundup" franchise and Marvel's "Eternals," shared his enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the Korean identity that "Tygo" brings to the global "Extraction" universe. Lee Jin-uk also expressed his honor in joining the franchise and working with esteemed actors like Don and Lisa. The producers highlighted the collaboration with Korean talent and the anticipation of showcasing the film's explosive energy to audiences worldwide.

The "Extraction" franchise has been a massive success for Netflix, with the first film attracting 90 million households in its initial four weeks and the second installment dominating the Global Top 10 Movies list for seven weeks, accumulating over 123 million views. "Tygo" promises to continue the franchise's momentum with its action-packed storyline and talented cast.
