Burglary Attempt at Christian Wood's Rental Home Foiled by Pizza Delivery Ruse

Authorities investigating a burglary at former Lakers player Christian Wood's rental home suspect that the intruders used a pizza delivery as a ruse to check if anyone was present before breaking in. The incident occurred at an Airbnb in Sherman Oaks, where a Domino's pizza delivery driver arrived around 12:30 PM on November 5, the day of the break-in. Wood, who was inside the residence but not expecting a delivery, did not respond to the knock on the door. Subsequently, three masked individuals broke in through the rear sliding glass door, prompting Wood to fire three shots from a firearm, causing the suspects to flee. A search warrant was later issued to trace the pizza order, but the investigation did not yield any leads on the suspects' identities. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and no property was stolen during the break-in. Christian Wood, who last played in the NBA during the 2023-24 season, was released by the Lakers in February and is currently a free agent.
