Jordanian Producer Alaa Alasad to Shoot New Films with Palestinian and Lebanese Directors Next Summer

Jordanian producer Alaa Alasad, known for his work on the film Sink, is gearing up to shoot new films next summer. He will collaborate with Palestine’s Ameen Nayfeh and Lebanese-Canadian director Lara Zeidan on separate projects. Nayfeh's upcoming film, Jo of Montreal, is a coming-of-age drama set in a village facing commercial development. The story revolves around a 12-year-old gamer who discovers a Crusader-era castle and gets involved in protecting the community's heritage. The film will be shot on location in Shaubak village and the Montreal castle in southern Jordan.

On the other hand, Lara Zeidan will make her feature debut with Birthday, set during the 2008 Beirut conflict. The film follows a girl preparing to celebrate her 14th birthday amidst city-wide gun battles. Both projects have received funding from various organizations and have garnered recognition at film festivals. Alasad expressed his enthusiasm for bringing these unique Arab stories to life with the support of regional and international partners.

Alaad Alasad, a prominent Jordanian producer, is set to work on new film projects next summer in collaboration with Ameen Nayfeh from Palestine and Lara Zeidan from Lebanon.
