Colorado Rapids Secure Noah Cobb on Permanent Deal from Atlanta United
The Colorado Rapids have completed the permanent acquisition of center back Noah Cobb from Atlanta United. In exchange for the 20-year-old US youth international, Atlanta will receive $525,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) over the next two seasons. They also retain a sell-on percentage in Cobb and could potentially earn an additional $250k in conditional GAM. Cobb initially joined Colorado on loan from Atlanta during the latter part of the 2025 season, making five starts across all competitions.
Noah Cobb played a significant role in helping the United States reach the quarterfinals of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup under the guidance of manager Marko Mitrović. Mitrović was recently appointed as the head coach of the New England Revolution. During his time at Atlanta, Cobb appeared in 40 games across all competitions and was a key player for the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate Atlanta United 2.
Following the departure of Chris Armas, the Colorado Rapids are currently in search of a new head coach. The team finished 11th in the Western Conference last season, accumulating 41 points and narrowly missing out on the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs. The acquisition of Noah Cobb adds depth to the Rapids' defensive line as they look to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
