Exploring New Voices: A Preview of the 55th International Film Festival Rotterdam Lineup

The International Film Festival Rotterdam has announced the lineup for its 55th edition, featuring films selected for the Tiger, Big Screen, and Tiger Short competitions. The festival will kick off with the world premiere of "Providence and the Guitar," a Portuguese feature by João Nicolau. The closing film will be the crime comedy "Bazaar (Murder in the Building)" by French filmmaker Rémi Bezançon. The festival aims to showcase new voices and returning artists exploring various themes in a changing world.
In the Tiger Competition, films like "La belle année," "A Fading Man," and "The Gymnast" will compete for recognition. The Big Screen Competition will feature films such as "2m²," "The Arab," and "Butterfly," while the Tiger Short Competition will showcase short films like "Acid City," "Body, Remember...," and "Golden Island." Additionally, the Displacement Film Fund will support projects like "Allies in Exile," "Rotation," and "Sense of Water."
