Netflix Expands Content with Exclusive Video Podcasts from iHeartMedia

Netflix is expanding its content offerings by adding over 15 video podcasts to its platform in the US next year. The streaming service has partnered with iHeartMedia to bring popular podcasts like My Favorite Murder, The Breakfast Club, and Bobby Bones Presents: The Bobbycast to its platform. This move is part of Netflix's strategy to keep viewers engaged even when they are not actively watching shows or movies on the platform.

The collaboration with iHeartMedia is seen as a direct response to the growing competition from YouTube, which is currently the most popular podcast platform. As part of the agreement, iHeartMedia's video podcasts will no longer be available in full on YouTube. Instead, Netflix will have exclusive access to new podcast episodes and select episodes from each show's library.

In addition to the partnership with iHeartMedia, Netflix has also secured a deal with Spotify to bring 16 shows, including The Bill Simmons Podcast and Conspiracy Theories, to its platform in 2026. The new titles from iHeartMedia, such as Dear Chelsea, This Is Important, Joe and Jada, and The Psychology of Your 20s, will be available on Netflix in the US starting early 2026, with plans to expand to other countries.

Despite the collaboration with Netflix, iHeartMedia will retain the audio-only rights and distribution for these podcasts. This means that the podcasts will still be accessible on iHeartRadio and other podcast platforms. The partnership between Netflix and iHeartMedia marks a significant step in the streaming service's efforts to diversify its content offerings and keep viewers engaged with a wide range of entertainment options.
