Prince Harry's Ski Trip in Aspen and Meghan Markle's Reconnection with Her Father

Prince Harry recently enjoyed a skiing trip in Aspen, Colorado, with his friend Nacho Figueras. The Duke of Sussex spent about four hours skiing on the mountains and had lunch with his friend at a resort. Harry appeared happy and was accompanied by other male friends during the outing. His wife Meghan Markle and their children did not join the ski trip but will celebrate Christmas at home in Montecito, California.

This ski trip was not the first time Harry and Figueras have visited Aspen together. They previously competed in the Sentebale Polo Cup at the Aspen Valley Polo Club in August 2022. Prince Harry has been skiing since childhood and has visited cold-weather destinations like Switzerland for vacations. He also tried an adaptive ski at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler's One Year to Go celebrations in 2024.

This public sighting of Prince Harry comes after a period of keeping a low profile with Meghan. Meghan recently reached out to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, for the first time in years after he underwent surgery to amputate his leg in the Philippines. Meghan's team made efforts to contact Thomas through reliable sources and hospitals to ensure the message was safely delivered to him.

The rift between Meghan and her father began before her royal wedding in 2018 when Thomas admitted to staging paparazzi photos. Meghan felt betrayed by his actions and lack of honesty about his interactions with the media. Despite the challenges in their relationship, Meghan made an effort to reach out to her father during his time of need.
