Florida State University Hires Blue Adams as New Cornerbacks Coach

Florida State University was in the process of finalizing its new cornerbacks coach when the Florida Gators made a surprising move to hire Brandon Harris from Tallahassee. This unexpected turn of events left the Seminoles scrambling to find a replacement for their coaching staff. As a result, they have turned to experienced assistant Blue Adams, who has no prior connections to head coach Mike Norvell or defensive coordinator Tony White. Adams, who most recently coached at Michigan State, is expected to join FSU as the cornerbacks coach.
Adams brings a wealth of coaching experience to Florida State, having worked under head coach Jonathan Smith at Michigan State and Oregon State for the past seven years. During his time with the Spartans, the team's passing defense ranked 92nd in the FBS, allowing an average of 231.1 passing yards per game and 23 total touchdown passes while forcing five interceptions. Adams has a track record of developing NFL talent, having coached players like Nahshon Wright and Rasul Douglas, both of whom went on to have successful careers in the league.
With a background that includes coaching at the FBS level since 2016, Adams has also spent time in the NFL as an assistant defensive backs coach with the Miami Dolphins. A Miami native, Adams played college football at Cincinnati before being drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2003. He has since had a successful coaching career, working at various universities and professional leagues. Adams is set to bring his expertise to Florida State as the new cornerbacks coach, filling the void left by the departure of Brandon Harris to the Florida Gators.
