Introducing the Founding Members of the FAI National League: A Pathway for Irish Football Talent

Three Donegal clubs, Bonagee United, Letterkenny Rovers, and Cockhill Celtic, have been selected as founding members of the new FAI National League set to begin in Autumn of next year. The league aims to bridge the gap between grassroots football and the League of Ireland, providing a direct pathway for players. The 15 clubs chosen represent a diverse range of provinces and counties, showcasing the FAI's commitment to developing talent nationwide. The inaugural season will kick off in Autumn 2026, with promotion and relegation opportunities introduced from the 2027 season onwards. Additional clubs still have the chance to apply for a spot in the league, with an extended application window provided to accommodate interested parties.
