Last Samurai Standing: Season 2 Confirmed - The Deadly Game Continues

Netflix has officially greenlit a second season of the Japanese period-action series "Last Samurai Standing," inspired by the manga series and novel "Ikusagami" by Shogo Imamura. Set in late 19th century Japan during the Meiji period, the show follows 292 warriors, led by Shujiro Saga, who gather at Tenryuji Temple in Kyoto for a deadly game with a massive cash prize at stake. Each warrior must steal wooden tags from others and make their way to Tokyo to claim the ¥100 billion reward. As night falls, the temple becomes a battleground filled with tension and bloodthirsty combatants. When the game begins, the warriors engage in a fierce fight for survival. The series features a talented cast including Junichi Okada, Yumia Fujisaki, Kaya Kiyohara, Hiroshi Tamaki, Hideaki Itō, and Gaku Hamada, with Michihito Fujii directing the action. Since its debut in November, "Last Samurai Standing" has topped Netflix's Global Top 10 (Non-English Series) list and achieved high rankings in 88 countries, maintaining the No. 1 spot in Japan for four weeks.
