RIAJ Certifications: NewJeans, aespa, BTS, and Rosé Earn Platinum and Gold Awards for Online Streaming Success in Japan

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) has recently announced its latest certifications for online streaming of songs. The RIAJ introduced a new certification system in 2020, where songs are certified silver, gold, or platinum based on the number of streams they receive. NewJeans received a triple platinum certification for their 2022 Korean hit “Ditto,” which has surpassed 300 million streams in Japan.
aespa also earned a platinum certification for their 2021 Korean hit “Next Level,” which has exceeded 100 million streams in Japan. Additionally, BTS’s 2018 Korean B-side “The Truth Untold” and BLACKPINK’s Rosé’s 2024 solo song “toxic till the end” were both certified gold for surpassing 50 million streams each in Japan.
