Chicago Cubs Bolster Bullpen with Addition of Right-Handed Reliever Jacob Webb for 2026 Season

The Chicago Cubs have recently added another right-handed reliever to their bullpen for the 2026 season. Jacob Webb, a 32-year-old pitcher, was drafted by the Braves in the 18th round in 2014. After making his MLB debut with the Braves in 2019, he spent three seasons with them before joining the Diamondbacks' minor league system in 2022. Webb has been a consistent reliever for the Angels, Orioles, and Rangers, boasting a 3.22 ERA and 1.157 WHIP over 169 appearances and 176.1 innings, with 76 walks and 173 strikeouts. Known for his offspeed pitches, Webb's performance has been highlighted in the 2025 season.
The Cubs have yet to officially confirm Webb's signing, but once they do, the 40-man roster will be at 35 players.
